I wanted to take a moment and let you know about a decision I’ve made about my art business.
Effective FEBRUARY 8, 2021, I will be closing down production of my woven sculpture work for the foreseeable future. After close to 30 years of making/selling, believe me, this is a decision that I’ve not come to lightly but after much prayer, and discussion with my wife. We feel that it’s the best decision for us in this season of life in order to pursue what’s next.
Many factors have gone into this decision including my own artistic interests, mental bandwidth and the growth of my artist mentoring program, Created to Thrive. We now serve over 2000 artists around the world through this subscription program and community. It’s having a major impact in the lives of so many and I love it. My “weaving” is now primarily with people, my art helping them to thrive as I have for so many years.
What this means practically is that I won’t be accepting any new commissions or creating any more woven sculpture work with any regularity. My focus will turn primarily to writing, speaking, mentoring and hosting my podcast, The Thriving Christian Artist. I’m even working on a new album of original music for my 6th book project, Experiencing More.
Thank you for your support and encouragement of me and my work over the years. I know the best is yet to come and I look forward to stepping into the next season with creativity, excitement and boldness! Matt
PS: if you’re interested, my remaining inventory of work is available through Blue Spiral 1 gallery downtown in Asheville, NC.
